How honest are we really?

I was talking to my children about how important it is to be honest, and that nothing makes mommy more upset than lies. Shortly after, I started counting up all of the small white fibs that I've recently told like...

*Telling Luke that potstickers and chili are vegetarian meals so that he will eat something besides jelly.

*Telling him that our couch and ottoman as well as his basketball and baseball are made out of "plastic leather" so that he will touch them.

*Telling my children that if they don't go to sleep and eat well, they won't grow.

*When asked if the **&*@)!! is real, I smile and say yes.

*Telling them that playing video games and watching TV will turn their heads into mush.

Does the end really justify the means?

Oh Bianca -
is this similar to you giving me "nonfat" cookies in high school???
See you had lots of practice - even back then.

that is soooo funny. I was just thinking about that the other day. See what a loving friend I was?

I can't believe Luke is so hard-core! I have given up telling my kids even little white lies, I just tell them what they don't want to hear and say they can't complain about it, they're doing it/not doing it/eating it/going to sleep anyway. And now even my 3 year old doesn't believe in Santa anymore... so don't listen to me.

absolutely.

And I had no idea Luke's vegan attitude extended so far into your lives. Wowie!! You are a patient mother -- and he a stubborn son. :)

Our family night last night was based on this exactly. It sure does make one think. When Josh was little he was going through the same thing, we use to call hamburgers, crabby patties so he would eat them. Haylee is our little vegan too for the most part.

Wow! Luke is serious about this vegan stuff. He is his own person, isn't he?

I am dying laughing. I never thought I would get so much bang for my buck. Payback is just delightful! By the way, what is **@**#! mean?

If watch TV endlessly and play video game your brain will turn to mush. If you don't sleep and eat well you will stunt your growth so I would say some of those aren't white lies.
