Last fall Eden brought home some information on Locks of Love and has been begging ever since to cut and donate her hair. Yesterday I finally gave in and took her aunt Makay. going... going... Gone! 7 whole inches!

We happened along some garage sales on Friday in a nice area and found great treasures! Saturday morning was super weather, the best so I got on my new Trek Hybrid bike and my mom borrowed Becky's mountain bike and we took a 22 mile bike ride down a dirt path along the Lake Wilderness trail to the Cedar River trail. The scenery was spectacular beside the river and past pastures, farmhouses and pines. We Northwesters are lucky to have this beauty in our backyard. I just got the final bill in the mail today for Liza's high chair incident (see previous post.) We spent 2 hours in the ER and that hospital bill alone came to $5,300. The ambulance and home care was close to $2,000. Needless to say today I am extremely thankful that we have health care coverage. Can you imagine paying $7,300 just to ensure that your toddler that fell out of her high chair didn't have head trauma? The total bill for her birth (not out of pocket, but total) was under $2,000. Something is messed up. On a lighter note ~ Luke sure knows how to make me laugh. We had several very interesting conversations last week. I am sure going to miss him when he is gone all day next year :) At lunch one day: Luke: "mom, how much of our food is locally grown" Mom: "not sure" Luke: "can you take a guess?" I looked out the window and what did I see....SNOWFLAKES falling right from my tree. Where is Spring I say...where is it? My parents reminisce about their wedding date, April 10 th being the snowy day of the year so I knew it was possible ~ but April 14 th and in Seattle...are you kidding? Enough of that. We did get some fabulous weather last week and had the most enjoyable Spring Break. Some of the highlights are listed below. BUT FIRST ~ my sister and I have challenged each other to 21 days without sweets and 21 days without raising our voice (yelling.) Why 21 days? I've lived in the NW for almost 15 years and it took my mom flying up and tickets to Wicked for me to finally get to Portland. What a beautiful city!!! The show was amazing and so were the sights!
