I've been crunching on these quotes this week: "Now if you are going to win any battle, you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired" George S. Patton (...anyone who knows me well knows how much I love sleep...so, you can see why I appreciate that quote so much!) Our doubts are traitors, And make us lose the good we oft might win By fearing to attempt. William Shakespeare , "Measure for Measure", Act 1 scene 4 ~Collings' weekly report~ I can sum it up with one picture:

Another day, another blog!

Anyone who knows me well knows (don't you love how I start all my posts this way?!) anyway, you know that I love good referrals, hot tips, good finds, etc...I decided to compile a list of all my favorite referrals/finds and make a blog. Check it out: www.soundsecrets.blogspot.com (link it link it!) If you have any good referrals, hot tips, etc. please email them to me. I am in desperate need of a good general physician and Mexican restaurant---do you have one? In other news... My dear friend Becky and I ran the "Susan G. Komen, Race for the cure" yesterday. We originally did it as part of our training for a relay that we are running in July, but it turned into an incredible, emotional experience. Most of the women in the race either had cancer or were either running for someone they knew that had cancer. It was difficult (to say the least) to keep a dry eye throughout. It was definitely worth every penny of that $30.

Happy Father's Day

Anyone who knows me well, knows that marrying Dave was the single best decision I ever made. He is my treasure...an incredible man, father and husband. (I just realized that Dave takes all the family pictures, I barely have any of him!)

Bag the privacy!

So I tried the privacy thing and it just isnt' working. What am I afraid of anyway? please tell me that terrible people won't track us down! For those that know me well, you know that I am a Law and Order/Dateline/48 Hours Mystery junkie. I have too many morbid stories floating around in my head! However, so many fun people from my past lives (there have been many...) have re-connected through this blog. So, once again, we are out in the open...

We're Private

I've been debating for quite awhile whether or not I should make the blog private and just now took the plunge and made it just for mostly our family. I will make another site for others to view, but for now, this is for me and the kids to write and post whatever we want. Luke and Liza had doctor appointments this morning. I made the big mistake of taking Tucker...the kid couldn't sit still to save his life. I am not sure if he was ancy or just jealous that he wasn't the one getting the shots. Luke told me he wanted to be brave but didn't anticipate the size of those terrible needles. He bit his lip so hard that it started to bleed~he just didn't want to cry. It completely broke my heart. I told him that I was so proud of him and replied," yeh , but I didn't do that good, it really hurt." The poor kid. I told him that even brave people cry. Dave spent the day at the church volunteering for a blood drive. It wasn't his choice activity for a Monday

I'm done...anyone else?

So I've had it! I told Dave that if the housing market wasn't so terrible, one more day of this and the Collings + a U-Haul are heading straight to SLC. Did someone forget to tell mother nature that it is JUNE? Do you know how many choice indoor play areas the NW is filled with? NOT MANY (unless you count the McD's playland on every corner, and you don't even want to get me started on McDonalds...) Just needed to vent. Rain rain go away....

Memorial Week

I am really going private this week~would you mind sending me your email addresses one more time? please please :) I accidentally deleted the post with the saved emails. Now for my weekly report: We had a great Memorial Day...saw Prince Caspian~which I highly recommend! Then a trip to the Tahoma National Cemetery. (sorry, can't figure out how to rotate the scan) Tuck and Luke started another session of swimming this week. Tuck is only 2 1/2 but the nice lady let him in anyway. He doesn't listen to a thing she says, but sure loves the water. That child has NO FEAR. Eden had a piano recital on Friday and won the award for practicing the most. I was a little too excited for her, and felt (and probably looked) like one of those crazy pageant moms (you know, the kind where the award is more important to the parent than the kid). Too bad I am not as diligent with 1st grade homework. I guess that is what happens when your mother is a music teacher ~ priorities,priorities... My sister
