Left Tarrytown to head to Palmyra but first made a little pit stop at one of our favorite places:) The drive from Tarrytown to Palmyra took approximately 4.5 hours. It was beautiful, but so much of the exact same thing - rolling hills with trees. Somewhere near the end we passed by Syracuse and through one of the many Finger Lakes. On the way through Manchester, we caught a glimpse of our first Church History site - The Hill Cumorah. It was exactly how I pictured it would be. The original hill looked exactly like this - the north side "without timber, the surface being cleared; and a short distance further left you are surrounded by forest" We tried to guess where it was the plates were buried and by the description given by Joseph Smith, it was somewhere on the west side of the hill, not far from the top. Maybe here;) We stayed at an Inn, near the entrance to Palmyra within walking distance to the Sacred Grove. Probably the nicest place to stay in the area. Woke up

Dave and I just spend the most amazing week in New York. I've spent the last week digesting it all and am finally ready to journal the experience. Dave had meetings in a quaint little village about 30 miles north of New York city, called Briarcliff Manor. I attempted to meet him Wednesday evening, BUT missed my flight due to circumstances that need not be written (I need to keep this clean!) I ended up taking a red eye Wednesday night and arrived at JFK Thursday morning. Dave picked me up and took me to a hotel in Tarrytown. I immediately got into my pajamas, shut the blinds and slept for 6 blissful, quiet hours. When I awoke around 3:00, I decided to take go on a little run through Tarrytown - WOW. My little run ended up being a 2 hour tour of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow - yes, Ichabod Crane's Sleepy Hollow. Clips from my walking tour: Don't you just LOVE old churches. We decided to spend Spring Break in Utah with family this year. This is what we ate nearly every day: Took Trax to the Saturday session of conference (swore I'd never ride them again after my iPhone was stolen on board last Christmas!) Conference was an amazing experience for all of us. We are going to come back each year one of our children turns 8. LOVED the Children's Museum and Planetarium. Honestly, there is so much for families to do in this city:) Got hit in a mall parking lot. This is the second time in 1 year that I've had a car accident in Utah. What the heck? Took Eden to a Girl's Day Expo and ended up buying the fun item pictured below. The kids LOVE putting the cans through this system. Who needs toys when you can play with food storage? Bought and played a fun game called Qwirkle. Capped the trip off with a surprise for my mom. See the post below. Did I mentioned that it SNOWED the ENTIRE time we were there? And you think WE have BAD weather?
