Ragnar Wrap Up

How do you sum up the events of one of the most life changing experiences in one little post? Yes, I am talking about the Ragnar Relay. We did it and boy was it ever amazing ~12 people, 189miles in 29 hours and 32 minutes! I've been asked several times, "what was so incredible about it anyway?" and I am at a serious loss for words. It is one of those things that you just have to experience to understand. Like I posted earlier, this is a race that connects you with what is best in yourself. For 30 hours we were saturated with shattering our own limits and watching others do the same. What was the highlight? There were too many! Watching my younger brother bust out an 8.5 mile run (1/2 uphill) with only 2 weeks of training and still come into the gate with a smile across his face. Or, Becky conquer something that she never thought possible! The girl was originally assigned one of the easier runs(if you consider 12 miles easy!!)however as training time progressed and team mat

Beach Bums

We just got back from a fun little trip down the Oregon coast. I think Tuck had the best time of all~he was with his best friend, didn't have to wear any clothes, and got to run free in the sand and water all day. Little Liza is getting cozy with Mason. We've had a blast exploring the NW coast these past couple of years. We are from SLC and so having beaches within a couple hours of our home is a whole new experience! Isn't she to die for cute??? Tuck's first bumper car ride
A group of my close friends and family members are running the Ragnar Relay in 10 days. What in the world is a Ragnar? A 181 mile relay over the course of 36 hours. Why in the world would a person do such a thing? I found this statement in the Deseret news that 100% sums up the reason I am doing this: "As I came up the last hill to the finish line, I saw my teammates standing there cheering for stumbling, slow me, and I was filled with the kind of joy that is impossible to describe. I am barely an athlete. My greatest competitions are with myself and usually over whether or not I will train today. But for 36 hours, I am saturated with shattering my own limits and watching others do the same. This is a race that connects you with what is best in yourself, and toughest in those who pretend you don't stink as they settle in beside you for a short power nap!" Here's a clip:

4th Fun

We had a fab 4 th . Started out with a hot breakfast, patriotic speeches, a bike rodeo and ended with a wonderful evening of more food, friends and fireworks. We are truly lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful people in such a great country. Tuck's best friend Mason. They are two crazy characters both totally obsessed with Thomas. It took one year to get Luke to get back on his bike~He did it!!! "I AM A MAN ON A MISSION" Where is Bianca? Oh yeh, she doesn't have a bike...but she needs one...really really bad...trek trek trek trek trek trek trek... Fun with fireworks This is a picture of Tucker trying to transport the Moulton's train table to the front where we were watching fireworks. He wanted to see the show but just couldn't leave Thomas behind! Can we PLEASE have a sleepover? PLEASE!!!!

For the record...

Liza said her first word today, and NO it was not dada~it was "ah oh" (is that how you spell that?) Anyway, she said it many times and in context. Wish I had a picture to go with it. Maybe tomorrow.
